Emily found a love for horses due to a horse-crazy primary school teacher. This started her journey to becoming an equine vet. She went to veterinary school in Bristol, before working in a number of veterinary practices, then moving to California for specialist training in equine internal medicine. Since 2009 she has been working at Rossdales, a large equine hospital in Newmarket, Suffolk. Despite working with lots of racehorses and performance horses, Emily loves nothing more than enjoying the countryside on a nice hairy cob!
Emily met her husband, Andy, in 2012. Andy’s career is in the RAF Regiment, based at RAF Honington. They got married in 2020 and have 2 boys (6 and 7) which keep them very busy.
Emily was reserve for the amazing Forces Wives Challenge Ride to Freedom adventure in 2023 and she is really excited to be able to be part of the team taking on the amazing Ride to Independence challenge.
Emily’s main challenges in life are balancing the challenges of being a vet, mum and military partner. To stay sane she loves to do Cross Fit and get out in the countryside.
